The Towne Dog Story Our neighbors told us that there was a stray dog in town that the kids called "Smokey". He was very friendly and had apparently been dumped by his poor excuse for an owner. Soon "Dog" as he was called, had food and a bed at our home. He now acts as an ambassador for the Gap. If you tour on foot, it is very likely that he will be your guide. Now, the entire town knows "Dog". Every Friday night he greets visitors at Webb's Country Kitchen and is paid with a hamburger at closing. We think that Dog is a great example of southern hospitality and demonstrates the way you should be treated any time you find yourself in Cumberland Gap.
